Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting—really taking time to think about the decisions I’ve been making and whether they align with the life I truly want to build over the next five years.
I recently took a step back and used ChatGPT as a kind of “life coach” to help me brainstorm what it would actually take to reach my goals. It walked me through a series of questions that forced me to think deeper than I have in a long time. At the same time, I’ve been reading Atomic Habits by James Clear, which has me thinking about identity—specifically, who I need to become to achieve the life I’m striving for.
And here’s what became clear…
I want:
- Better health
- Deeper spiritual growth
- A thriving, purpose-driven business
But more than that, I realized something bigger:
I am willing to change.
Not just thinking about change. Not just talking about it.
Actually committing to it.
Because the truth is—I’m tired of being stuck in the same cycle of stagnation.
A Shift in Direction (and Focus)
This realization has led me to make a decision about my business.
It’s not necessarily a brand-new direction—but it is a more focused one.
For a long time, I’ve wrestled internally with questions like:
- Should I keep going down this path?
- Am I doing this because I love it—or because others say I’m good at it?
- What would happen if I truly focused on what brings me joy?
And this week, I made a declaration:
I’m choosing what’s best for me and my family.
That means putting my energy into the things that:
- Bring me peace
- Ignite my passion
- Align with my purpose
Passion Over Pressure
I love helping people. I truly do.
But I’ve also realized something important:
You can’t pour into everyone else while neglecting yourself.
There’s a difference between being busy and being aligned.
When you spend 100% of your time on something that only adds 5% value to your life, it drains you. But when you focus even a fraction of your time on something that fuels your passion and purpose—it multiplies your impact.
I believe that when I operate from passion:
- I serve others better
- I show up more authentically
- I reflect the light of Christ more clearly
Not from burnout… but from overflow.
The Commitment
So this is my declaration moving forward:
I’m no longer allowing distractions, expectations, or fear to dictate my path.
I’m choosing:
- Growth over comfort
- Focus over scattered effort
- Purpose over pressure
And most importantly…
I’m choosing to become the person who can sustain the life I’m building.
Final Thought
If you’re reading this and feel stuck in your own cycle—let this be your reminder:
You’re allowed to pivot.
You’re allowed to refocus.
You’re allowed to choose you.
Because the life you want isn’t just built on goals…
It’s built on the identity you’re willing to step into.
